又 见 桐 花 发 旧 枝
一 楼 烟 雨 暮 凄 凄。
凭 阑 惆 怅 人 谁 会
不 觉 潸 然 泪 眼 低。

层 城 无 复 见 娇 姿
佳 节 缠 哀 不 自 持。
空 有 当 年 旧 烟 月
芙 蓉 城 上 哭 蛾 眉。

Yi lou yan yu mu qi qi .
Ping lan chou chang ren shei hui
Bu jue shan ran lei yan di.

Feelings of Resentment: Two Poems

Again see the paulownia blossoms produced on long-lived branches
On a tower, cold and bleak the mist and rain at sunset.
Lean against a railing, who can understand this upset and disappointment
Tearful eyes cry themselves into numbness.
(2)
Atop the city walls, without again seeing her style
Festival time, cannot naturally hold onto these entangled sorrows any more.
Long time, months and years full of emptiness
With the immortals inside their cottonrose hibiscus city walls, I cry for my wife’s appearance.

This poem was written on the one year anniversary of Li Yu’s wife passing.
