Jiang han ceng wei ke
Xiang feng mei zui huan.
Fu yun yi bie hou
Liu shui shi nian jian.
Huan xiao qing ru jiu
Xiao shu bin yi ban.
He yin bei gui qu
Huai shang dui qiu shan.

Used to be a visitor at Jiang Han on the Han River
Every time we met each other we wound up drunk.
Each of us came together and departed as floating clouds
Like flowing water, the past ten years has gotten behind us.
In the past we laughed heartily
Temple hair thinning, skin already spotted.
Asked myself why I am returning to the north
Here on the Huai River we could enjoy the autumn mountains.
Notes:
Huai River: Major river that flows from west to east in between the great Huang He (Yellow River) and the Changjiang (Yangzi River).
Liang Chuan: The Liang River was an ancient name for the Changjiang.
Jiang Han: A district within the modern day city of Wuhan, Hubei Province.
Han River: The longest tributary to the Changjiang, located in central China.
